Off to the "Big Apple"

This is THE CHICEST going away cake ever!!!!

Sweet DK even had them put the city skyline along the top of the apple. That's the empire state building! And on the inside...

Apple spice cake!
(KATU is like that Seinfeld episode where Elaine eats a slice of cake that's hundreds of years old because she needs the sugar after eating cake everyday for some occasion. We have a cake almost every other afternoon/evening around here!)
I'll miss you guys and gals!

Heaven on Earth

PDX2NYC Photog keeps tempting me with photos like this!
From what I understand, this is self-serve, healthy frozen yogurt!
My soon-to-be addiction!
(And where much of my student loan money will end up.)

Fun with Macro

(Just playing with my new camera.)

Who needs a TV

Our TV broke two months ago.
But who needs it!  We're entertaining enough.
Patrick and I are ipod dorks with our "mug me" headphones.
With 3 ipods in our house now - we can each rock to our own beat...
Sigmund, too!

Things I will miss about Portland #3:

Motor-pacing Patrick along Sauvie Island on the Vespa.
Check out the basket set-up.
The reward - Krueger Farms berries and Veggies!

Kuchen Attempt

Beyond "Chocolate Bar Pie," this is my favorite dessert made by my Grandma "M." I attempted to make the German custard coffee cake... the pictures were taken before and after. And while it appears to taste good, and was decent, it by no means is anywhere close to my grandmother's. Far too soupy, sweet, and more like a cake than a pie. Her Kuchen is hands down the best... I need to get the recipe!

Apron in Use

Napa's "Chic Chick" rockin' her chick apron!
Look how she coordinated it with her outfit.
